California lottery player goes from winning $500 to $1 million dollars by trying his luck at a scratcher's ticticket
A California man tried his luck from a previous win of $500 and won $1 million from a scratcher's ticket. Says he got lucky as he rarely plays lottery games.
Vang Cha- from California, says he rarely plays scratch-off lottery games but turned his luck this time from a previous win of $500 to winning $1 million on his second try.
“I looked at the odds of winning and found it’s better odds than (the) SuperLotto Plus (game), so I figured I might as well give it a shot,” he said.
He told the California Lottery officials that he usually prefers playing games with bigger jackpots like the Powerball and Mega Millions whose prizes have recently soared to over $1 billion.

According to a lottery news release, he browsed the odds online of winning the $30 California 200X Scratchers game and the $10 million, out of curiosity.
Vang spent $30 on a ticket and earned back a $500 prize. Thus, he dared to try his luck once more.
He used the $500 to buy 30 $10 Xtreme Multiplier Scratchers tickets at a Sacramento liquor store. “I decided to just go all in and buy an entire book of the ten-dollar games,” Vang said.
“I went to work and scratched probably about 20 of them, went home and scratched the rest.”
He revealed the lucky number 16 on the fourth and final row of a ticket and was “stunned” to know he had become a millionaire. He'd won a $1 million prize!
"I scanned it on the lottery app to make sure it was true, and it was,” said Vang, adding that he plans to invest his winnings and secure his family's future.
