Chandrayaan-3 has shared its first-ever images of the Moon and they look stunning! As the spacecraft of the ambitious Chandrayaan-3 mission entered the lunar orbit on Saturday, it caught sight of the Moon during its maneuver, the video clip of which was shared by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Sunday on X (formerly Twitter). While there are only less than 20 days left before the soft landing on the lunar surface, the clip gave a glimpse of the intricate details of Moon's craters as the craft was approaching towards it.

“The Moon, as viewed by #Chandrayaan3 spacecraft during Lunar Orbit Insertion (LOI) on August 5, 2023,” ISRO wrote on X.

Chandrayaan-3 is India's third unmanned Moon mission and has successfully entered the lunar orbit on Saturday after covering two-thirds of the total distance so far. ‘I am feeling lunar gravity’ was the Chandrayaan-3's message to ISRO after it achieved the major milestone that hauled it closer to the Moon. The craft made over five moves in an attempt to lift it against the Earth's gravity over three weeks since the launch on July 14.

It will make another maneuver tonight at 11 pm. After this, there will be three more operations left before the landing module Vikram carrying the rover Pragyan will break away from its propulsion module. It will be followed by de-orbiting maneuvers before the soft landing is carried out.
