Govt mulls SIT to probe communal clashes in state
The state government of Mumbai is considering the formation of a special investigation team to probe an alleged plan to disturb communal harmony. State to procure 1,785 new ambulances at over ₹7,000 crore
The Maharashtra government has decided to improve its emergency medical services by procuring a fleet of 1,785 ambulances, including advanced life support and basic life support ambulances, motorbike ambulances, boat ambulances, and neonatal ambulances. This is part of the state government's Dial 108 project, which provides emergency medical services for free to citizens who call the government's toll-free helpline. The government has approved a sum of ₹7,595.65 crore for procuring and running the ambulances for ten years. The fleet will also include boat ambulances for reducing travel time and bike ambulances for areas where regular ambulances cannot reach.
