Delhi is set to experience yet another hot and humid day, with no rain on Monday or Tuesday, an India Meteorological Department official said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures of the day are expected to be around 36 degrees and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively. Humidity levels swung between 84 percent and 59 percent in the last 24 hours.
The city received 2.2mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours till 8.30am today. However, there is no forecast of rainfall till Wednesday. Palam, Ridge and Delhi University weather stations recorded 10.0mm of rainfall, while Ayanagar recorded 5.2mm rain.
“It will be a hot and humid day, with partly or mostly cloudy skies, towards the afternoon but there is no forecast of rain for today or tomorrow,” the official said.
According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality is likely to remain in the moderate category on Monday. Moreover, the predominant surface wind is likely to be coming from West, with wind speeds of 12-24 kmph.
The CPCB classifies an AQI between 0-50 as ‘good’, between 51 and 100 as ‘satisfactory’, between 101 and 200 as ‘moderate’, between 201 and 300 as ‘poor’, between 301 and 400 as ‘very poor’ and over 400 as ‘severe’.
