Manipur continues to remain tense after a tumultuous last week. Meira Paibis, the elderly women from the Meitei community, are set to stage a protest against the Assam Rifles. They claim that the central paramilitary force used "brutality during recent agitations." The centre has also rushed 10 more companies to the strife-torn northeastern state to quell the violence. The weekend clash erupted over the call for mass burial of Kuki tribal victims of the violence. Meanwhile, the ITLF leaders will meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah today.
