Breach Candy apartment witnesses another fire in less than 3 weeks

“The fire erupted around 4:30pm, and it was extinguished at 7:22pm. The fire was confined to electric wiring, installation, household articles, beds, clothes etc, on the 11th floor of the ground plus 15-storey building,” BMC said

Two arrested for stealing from actress Shilpa Shetty’s home in Juhu

The incident took place on June 6 and Shekhar Chaudhary, the housekeeping manager of the bungalow, approached the police. Shetty stays with her husband and two kids in that bungalow, however, at present, the family is not in the city

A police team was set up under the leadership of assistant police inspector Vijay Dhotre and all the CCTV footage was scrutinised thoroughly. Based on the description of the two people, their body language and the modus operandi, the police started enquiring among their local sources to identify the two men. According to the police, they scanned the mobile phones of Dubey as well as the victims – Raunak Tiwari, 22 and Kishan Jha – and found that Tiwari had lent ₹20,000 to Dubey. Police officials said Dubey was supposed to return the money within two hours

Dubey called Tiwari to the tea stall, however, he did not expect Jha to show up as well, the police officer said, adding, “As the two entered the stall, Dubey sent Jha to buy snacks. CSMT sexual assault: Police escort traumatised survivor to college, get her exam postponed

A 20-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a moving train in Mumbai while on her way to an exam. The suspect has been arrested and the Government Railway Police escorted the victim to her college to ask for her exams to be postponed due to trauma. The GRP has also increased security on Harbour line trains and instructed personnel to escort women and children found alone at railway station premises to the booking office.

State offers possession of 30-acre plot in Bandra East for new HC complex

The Maharashtra state government has offered to hand over a 30-acre plot in Bandra East for the construction of a new high court complex. The Bombay High Court declined the government's request to discontinue monitoring the process, however, stating that the public interest litigation (PIL) seeking allotment of additional building for the HC would continue to be monitored. The HC had directed the state government to take a decision on the issue in 2019 after a PIL was filed in 2012.

Two killed as speeding minor in car hits bike at Chowpatty

According to the police, the minor was driving the vehicle from Bhoiwada in Dadar East and was headed towards Nariman Point. He hit the bike near Cafe Ideal at Chowpatty, killing the man on the spot. The woman, who was riding pillion, was seriously injured in the accident and succumbed to her injuries a few hours later.

Property prices in MMR dipped by 2% in first quarter of 2023: Report

Average property prices in Mumbai Metropolitan Region dropped by 2% in Q1 2023 to settle at ?19,219 per square feet, with unsold inventory rising by 29%. However, Mumbai was the only exception, with residential prices rising by 16%. Panvel witnessed the highest price rise at 9%, followed by the western suburbs at 6.4% YoY. Mumbai had the largest share of unsold inventory at 37%, followed by Pune at 13%, and Delhi-NCR at 12%. Despite the rise in housing prices, demand remains strong, especially in tier 1 cities. Developers are focusing on delivering relevant supplies at the right price and location.
