Uttarakhand's Dehradun MeT office has put several districts, including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Pithoragarh, among others, on a yellow alert on Tuesday. However, some districts such as Tehri Garhwal, Dehradun, Pauri Garhwal, Champawat, Nainital, and Haridwar are on an orange alert for Wednesday with the possibility of ‘very heavy’ rainfall in isolated areas. It stated that all these districts will continue to experience downpours till Friday and are on a yellow alert.

In view of the prediction, the regional weather office in Bihar's Patna has put all the districts on a yellow alert for today, except Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Purnia, and Kathihar, which are on an orange alert and will receive ‘very heavy’ rainfall throughout the day as per the prediction.

The IMD further noted that the remaining parts of the country, except the northeast, will witness subdued rainfall activity till August 14.

All seven northeastern states will witness isolated ‘heavy to very heavy’ rainfall till Wednesday and isolated ‘heavy’ rainfall in the subsequent three days, the IMD said. It predicted, “Light or moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall activity very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 2 days and isolated heavy rainfall for subsequent 3 days."
